Milan Buben (born May 25, 1946 in Prague ) is a Czech historian and heraldist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1965, Buben began studying English and Czech language and later general history at Charles University . From 1984 to 1994 he was President of the Heraldic Society in Prague. From 1973 to 1980 he was a high school teacher and since 1990 assistant professor in the language center at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University. 1984 to 1994 he was chairman of the Heraldic Association in Prague. Buben was also politically active: from 1994 to 1998 he was on the Prague City Council . Buben is a doctor of philosophy. He is a lecturer at the Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University in the subjects of heraldry and English (some with a special historical focus).
