Ship machine command

The ship machine command was a specialist command of the German Navy that was responsible for all matters relating to ship technology . Schools and experimental stations for ship technology were subordinate to him.

history

The ship machine command was set up on June 1, 1956 in Kiel and was under the command of naval training . In the course of a reorganization of the Navy, it was assigned to the newly established Central Navy Command on February 1, 1962 and renamed the Ship Technology Command . In a further reclassification, it was incorporated into the newly established Naval Office on October 1, 1965 as an inspection of ship technology and relocated to its headquarters in Wilhelmshaven on March 1, 1966 .

All inspections including the inspection of ship technology were dissolved and their tasks were divided between the naval training and naval armaments departments.
