history
Historically, one speaks of the Schillerviertel as a station district , which was located between the passenger station in the city center and the marshalling and freight yard in the lower town. The area was badly damaged during the war. The fabric of the building is still occasionally characterized by buildings from the Wilhelminian era and mainly by post-war architecture.
In recent years, the vacancy in the Schillerviertel has become an urban planning problem due to the requirements of urban development policy.
