The Schiwopisny Bridge ( Russian Живописный мост Schiwopisny most , literally "Picturesque Bridge") is a cable-stayed bridge over the Moscow River that opened on December 30, 2007 in Moscow . The bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge in Moscow and at the same time the highest of its kind in Europe.

The bridge is unusual for two reasons. On the one hand, it crosses the Moskva River not in a transverse but in a longitudinal direction. At the same time, a branch of the Moskva will be crossed and the island of Serebryany-Bor will be connected to Moscow by a highway. The total length of around 1.5 kilometers includes an approximately 420-meter-long and 47-meter-wide section, which runs in an S-shape and centrally over the Moscow River.

Another unique feature is the bridge's 105-meter-high arched pylon , which, unlike other cable-stayed bridges, is not perpendicular or inclined to the roadway, but extends in a wide arc over the main span. A disc-shaped viewing platform is planned below the arch formed by the pylon, which will house a tower restaurant. The weight of this construction is supported by 78 cables. The steel arch has a mass of 5000 tons.
