Schlüter is an impact crater on the western edge of the front of the moon , northwest of the Montes Cordillera . It is a large crater with pronounced terracing of the inner ramparts and a central mountain .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the German astronomer Heinrich Schlueter .
