Battle of Trifanum

The Battle of Trifanum took place during the Second Latin War in 338 BC. Chr. Instead. The exact location of the slaughter site is unknown, it is mostly located in today's province of Caserta .

After the victory in the Battle of Vesuvius last year, the Romans pushed for a final decision in the fight against the rebellious Latins. Manlius Imperiosus commanded again on the Roman side . Rome remained victorious in this battle and was able to end the war by occupying Antium . The Latin Confederation in its old form was dissolved and the cities were linked directly to Rome through different legal relationships. A city could be given either an “equal” or a subordinate position. This depended on the behavior of its residents towards Rome.
