The Battle of Helsinki occurred from April 12th to 13th, 1918 between the German Baltic Sea Division and the Finnish Red Guard during the Finnish Civil War and led to the capture of the Finnish capital Helsinki by the former.

On April 3, the Baltic Division went ashore in the port of Hanko . The main power of the Baltic Division advanced along the coast directly towards Helsinki. On April 11, she reached the outskirts of Helsinki in Leppävaara . The attack on the city began on April 12, and the last of the Red Guards laid down their weapons in the working-class district of Siltasaari the next day . The German victory parade took place on April 14th.
