The Battle of Satara was fought between the Mughal Empire and Maratha from 1699 to 1700 . The Mughal Mughal , Aurangzeb , ordered an attack on the fortress of Satara . The warriors of the Mughal Empire destroyed large parts of the fortress and the commander of the Marathas, Subhanji , surrendered on April 21, 1700.
