The Schletter Group is an international manufacturer of photovoltaic mounting systems made of aluminum and steel. The companies in the group produce assembly systems for open space systems (solar parks), roof-top systems and solar carports.

Corporate structure

The seat of the parent company Schletter Solar GmbH and at the same time the administrative seat of the group is Kirchdorf (Upper Bavaria) . The group of companies is active worldwide and has production sites in Germany (Kirchdorf), the USA ( Shelby, North Carolina ) and China ( Shanghai ). There is also a global network of service and sales companies.

Company history

The company was founded in 1968 by Ludwig Schletter sen. Founded as a metalworking craft business in the Munich district of Riem under the name AluKon . In 1983 the new plant in Haag i. OB built, which was expanded in 1991 and supplemented in 2001 and 2003. In 2001 the company founded the new branch of solar mounting systems in Haag. In 2008 the head office was relocated to the neighboring church village at the intersection of the B12 and B15 federal highways .

At the end of 2015, the founder's son retired from the management. In 2016, the company started a comprehensive restructuring program under new management and announced that it would focus exclusively on the internationally growing solar business, i. H. to concentrate the production and worldwide sales of photovoltaic mounting systems. The loss-making light metal construction division at the Kirchdorf location was closed on October 1, 2016. In March 2018, Schletter filed for bankruptcy under self-administration at the Mühldorf District Court .

After successfully completing the restructuring and financial reorganization, Golden Square Capital took over the business operations as a new partner in July 2018.

In May 2020, the company announced that it had significantly expanded its production capacities for photovoltaic assembly racks in China. The move to a new plant in Shanghai took place in March. Around 400 people are employed there.
