Altjeßnitz Castle
The Altjeßnitz Castle is preserved only in parts castle in Altjeßnitz in Saxony-Anhalt .
History and architecture
The castle was built from 1699. The builders were the barons from the end . A three-wing complex was created. A tower with a square floor plan above the gate entrance is striking. The upper floor of the tower is octagonal. In 1854 the facility was renewed.
A fire in 1946 destroyed larger parts of the facility. Demolition work followed in April 1975. Parts were rebuilt, but clearly changed.
The landscape garden with the preserved Altjeßnitz maze belonged to the castle .
