Fellenberg Castle is a castle and museum in Merzig .

Originally built as a Lohmühle , the building was converted into a castle-like structure after 1858 by the Swiss manufacturer Wilhelm Tell von Fellenberg . The building is divided into two parts; While the larger part consists of a multi-storey, yellow plastered and rather simple wing, the smaller part was made of red sandstone and received a bay window , a tower and a gargoyle . After the death of the childless first owner couple, the castle fell to the von Boch family . From 1912 to 1919 it was rented to the district and the residence of the respective district administrator. In 1934, the building became the property of the Merzig district and then temporarily served as a retirement home and also as a hospital and maternity ward. Since 1980 it has been used as a museum with a focus on regional history. A total renovation took place between 1997 and 2000.

Every two years the Museum Schloss Fellenberg awards the Monika von Boch Prize for Photography, endowed with 2000 euros and an exhibition in the castle .
