Güttmannsdorf Castle

Güttmannsdorf Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Dobrocinie ) is a neo-Gothic castle on a small lake in Dobrocin , Poland , in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship .

history

In the place of today's castle there was a monastery property , possibly a commander of the Knights Templar . In 1484 it was acquired by Friedrich von Hochberg, founder of the Güttmannsdorfer line of von Hochberg . In the 18th century the complex was redesigned in Baroque style . From the end of the 18th century the place was owned by von Falkenhain and von Seher-Thoß , in 1833 Heinrich Moritz Eichborn bought the estate.

By inheritance it came back to the Seher-Thoß, then in 1897 to Kuno von Portatius. From 1898 to 1899 the complex was redesigned in a neo-Gothic style. The southwest wing was built in 1909. Portatius also had a landscape park laid out.

After 1945 the castle became the seat of an agricultural production cooperative , after the fall of the Wall the castle was privatized, but fell into disrepair.

investment

The castle is built on a horseshoe-shaped floor plan and is picturesquely structured with small turrets, dwarf houses and stepped gables . Inside, parts of the fixtures and fittings, such as classicistic stucco ceilings and neo-Gothic wall paneling, have been preserved. Some of the estate's farm buildings are half- timbered.
