Gosau Castle

Gosau Castle was located in Gosau in the Salzkammergut in Upper Austria .

The castle was built between 1909 and 1912 by order of Count Ernst Emanuel von Silva-Tarouca (1860–1936). The architectural style was neo-baroque .

After the Count's death, the castle was sold to several owners and operated as a hotel in the post-war period. It was demolished in 1977 despite protests.
