As Schloss Hallungen , a small high medieval castle complex in the local area of Hallungen , Wartburg district is handed down.

According to Galetti, Hallungen belonged to County Tonna as an exclave for centuries . A family called Quirinius provided the local nobility. The palace, last designed as a four-sided courtyard, was the residence of the aristocratic Zenge family, who had lived in Hallungen since 1404. These too belonged to the ranks of the Counts of Tonna-Gleichen. The scepter taken from the family coat of arms can be found in the local coat of arms of Hallungen. The remains of the castle, mentioned in the middle of the 19th century, stood near the village church at the southern end of the village and can be traced back to a Niederungsburg built there on the Lempertsbach .
