history

Heinrichsdorf Palace (2013)

The place is located on an isthmus between the Völtzkowsee (Jezioro Wilczkowo) and the Dratzigsee (Jezioro Drawsko). In the 16th century the place became the headquarters of the von Goltz family, who also owned the Blumenwerder (Piaseczno) estate . After the Great Northern War , Henning Bernd von der Goltz had the previous manor house demolished and between 1722 and 1726 the present castle was built with a central building and two forward side wings in the Baroque style.

In the 1790s the estate and castle were sold to Heinrich August von Arnim. The von Arnim had a new wing of the castle built in 1796, and later a farm building. From 1907, the von Bredow lords of the castle built a new wing on the north side and redesigned the park. During the Second World War , the castle remained undamaged and was used as a school in the now Polish town. Today the castle has been renovated and is used as a hotel .

The Heinrichsweg, which explains the history of the place and its sights, leads through the surrounding park. Noteworthy is the hornbeam avenue , which has not been maintained since 1945 , whose trees have produced strange shapes.
