Alfred Lück

Alfred Lueck (* 25. March 1912 in Siegen , † 12. March 1982 ) was a German , siegerländischer archivist and local historian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1931, Lück completed a commercial apprenticeship in the Siegerland department of the United Steel Works . In 1937 he moved to the company's Lippstadt site . After the dismantling of the plant in 1946 as a result of the Second World War, Lück worked as a freelancer before he was given a permanent position as the works archivist and works librarian at Hüttenwerke Siegerland in 1954 .

Shortly afterwards his sphere of activity began to expand. In 1958 Lück was one of the founding members of the Association of German Works and Business Archivists . In 1961 he joined the executive board of the Siegerland homeland and history association . From 1970 to 1972 he was chairman of the club, after which he was deputy chairman until his death. From 1971 until the end of his life he was the editor-in-chief of the club magazine Siegerland - sheets of the Siegerland homeland and history association . In 1969 he was appointed to the Historical Commission for Nassau .

Lück published a total of around 200 publications, in particular on the history of the Siegerland and the history of the metal industry, but also historical novels and children's books.

In 1972 Lück received the golden Siegeland medal and in 1979 the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

Alfred Lück died as a result of a stroke.
