Laskowitz Castle

Laskowitz Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Laskowicach Oławskich ) is a castle in Jelcz-Laskowice , Lower Silesian Voivodeship .

history

A permanent house was built under Johann von Prittwitz in 1558 . From 1650 the village and castle were owned by Wolf Albrecht von Saurma , who had it converted into a Fideikommiss with neighboring works . The manor house burned down in 1656 and was extended during the reconstruction and received a facade structure with vertical ribbon windows. In 1779, Baron Johann Franz von Saurma-Jeltsch had the building expanded in a classical style by adding an Ionic portico with a tympanum and colossal pilasters to the early Baroque building . Two connecting structures connected the portico with the corps de logis .

After another fire from 1869 to 1886, the current appearance of the complex was created in the style of the Dutch Neo-Renaissance .

After the expropriation and expulsion of the Saurma, the castle came into the possession of the Institute for Plant Cultivation of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Today the restored castle is owned by the city. The opposite dominium is neglected, the landscape park with a hornbeam avenue is little maintained.
