Rio Castle (2008)

The Rio Castle is a historicist villa in Buchloe , Kaufbeurer Straße 14. The building is a listed building (entry D-7-77-121-33).

The Rio Castle was built from 1901 to 1903 by JA Weitmann from Fürstenfeldbruck as an upper-class residence. The client was Katharina de Kohnle. The architectural design shows neo-Gothic forms that are reminiscent of old castles. The house is located in the southwest of Buchloe (in the direction of Lindenberg ) in the immediate vicinity of the water tower that can be seen from afar.

After the Second World War , the building was used as a retirement home. Today it is privately owned.
