Schörgern Castle is located on the right slope of the Pramtal in Großschörgern, a district of Andorf in the Schärding district .

history

The oldest mention of Schörgern ( Schergaren ) comes from the year 1236, but without naming an owner. On March 16, 1468 the brothers Maister (Magister) Marx, Jörg and Thoman die Hyerstain are named as owners . The Schergorn seat is known as frays aigen . Later, the owners of Schörgern were the Herren von Wolff, who repeatedly left it to their daughters' husbands to use as marriage goods. If the daughter died, the castle always fell back to the Wolff. In the 16th century, the Wolff continue to appear as owners, albeit with an interruption of nine years (1533 to 1542), during which the castle was left to Hanns Pirchinger ; from 1542 a Jörg Wolff can be proven as the owner. In 1588 Wolfgang III. von Hackledt called it the owner of Schörgern, at the beginning of the 17th century it belonged to his cousin Moritz von Hackledt, who had previously lived at Teufenbach Castle . Around 1650 the Mawr are named as owners, although it is uncertain when the change of ownership took place. Georg Ferdinand von Maur zu Große Scherggarn gives the mill to Großschörgern on May 31, 1681. Georg Ferdinand von Maur was followed by his widow Florentine Catharina Barbara Scharrfsederin (mentioned in a document in 1726). Later, the Freiherrn von Pflacher (n) were the owners. B. 1779 to 1848 mentioned. A Baron Pfacher is named as a participant in the war against Italy 1813-1814 or the Third Reserve Division is commanded by Franz Freiherr von Pflacher (* October 12, 1745, † November 5, 1815). The grave of the Schörgern castle owners is in the parish church of Andorf.
