Strömsholm Castle
The royal Strömsholm Castle near Strömsholm in the Swedish province of Västmanland was built in the 1670s according to plans by the architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. Ä. built. Most of the furnishings date from the time of Gustav III . Among other things, there is a “Chinese hall” with wall paintings with Chinese motifs and a rich collection of pictures.
Between 1868 and 1968 the Swedish Army's riding and driving school was housed in the castle. Today the castle is open to the public, but horse shows and horse races are still held in Strömsholm. It has been classified as Byggnadsminne since 1935 .
