Strannersdorf Castle
The Strannersdorf Castle is located west of Mank in Mostviertel .
The original castle located here was built by the Lords of Walsee in the 15th century after they lost their ancestral castle. In the early 16th century , the Steinberger family took over the fortification and converted it into the castle that is still standing today.
The rule of Strannersdorf around 1837
Like almost every castle and every lock also made Strannersdorf until the abolition of feudalism in 1848 its own rule. The following can be read about the area of the Strannersdorf rule in the representation of the Archduchy of Austria under the Ens :
"This owns the local authority over the villages: Freyn, Fleischessen, Fritzberg, Grieß, Grünegg, Haus, Hörgstberg, Hörsdorf, Kälberhardt, Loitsbach, Markt Mank, Neuberg, Podendorf, Pölla, Rinn, Ritzenberg, Stranersdorf and Wies."
