Narrowband noise

Under the narrowband noise  (SBR) is understood a sound of a plurality of frequencies , to a narrow frequency band including a frequency or are adjacent.

Narrowband noise is used in tone threshold audiometry , a method of subjective audiometry . Since above a certain sound level both ears are excited via the bone, but the opposite ear should not be examined, it is masked with a noise that is adjacent to the test tone.
