Schochtimverband Bavaria

The " Schochtimverband Bayern " was a voluntary professional association of Jewish slaughterers in Bavaria .

The association, with its official seat in Nuremberg , was founded in 1927 by Gustav Neustädter , who had worked as a slaughterer, assistant cantor and teacher for the Jewish community in Bad Kissingen since 1924 . As early as May 1926, Neustädter had called on all Bavarian "Schochtim in the main occupation ... for the purpose of founding an association" to contact him in Bad Kissingen for the first time. But it was not until December 25, 1927 that its founding and first general assembly took place in Nuremberg. As expected, Gustav Neustädter became chairman. Isak Lubinski became treasurer , since 1926 Torah scholar, slaughterer, meat inspector and cultural officer in Schweinfurt.

On January 5, 1930, the 4th general meeting was held in Bad Kissingen.

It was not until June 9, 1930 that the Bavarian and three other regional associations with a total of more than 100 members formed the German "Reich Association of Schochtim" in Mainz . The magazine “ Der Israelit ” was designated as its organ of the association.

It can be assumed that with the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in January 1933, the Bavarian Schochtim Association was dissolved again after less than six years.
