The Schola Cantorum Weimar is the largest children's and youth choir in Thuringia with over two hundred young singers. It was founded in 2002 in the cultural city of Weimar. The children and young people are now rehearsing in seven age-appropriate partial choirs. The conductor and director is Cordula Fischer.

In addition to voice training, the core of musical support in the choir is primarily regular rehearsals of various ages and levels. The training often begins in elementary school age in a playful way with movement and singing and ends in the youth choir, usually with graduation. The choirs of the Schola Cantorum Weimar regularly present themselves in concerts, festivals and opera productions. Several prizes at national choir competitions have impressively confirmed the quality of the music education at the Schola Cantorum Weimar. As hosts, the choirs invited to the 1st children's choir festival “VoicesKlangRaum” in Weimar and sang several concerts with the guests in front of a large, enthusiastic audience. The Schola Cantorum Weimar presents itself in numerous concerts, regularly participates in productions of the German National Theater Weimar (most recently Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and A Dream Play by the Swedish composer Ingvar Lidholm ), and is a regular guest at choir festivals such as B. 2012 in Söhlde and 2013 at the German Choir Festival in Zwickau (including participation in Carmina Burana under the direction of Howard Arman).

The Schola Cantorum Weimar is a member of the Association of German Concert Choirs (VDKC)
