The Chimney Sweep Crafts Act (SchfHwG) is a law that regulates chimney sweeps in Germany.

The law came into force on November 27, 2008, Sections 8 to 12, 14 to 16, 18, 20, 21, 27 to 47 and 49 to 51 came into force on January 1, 2013. It replaces the chimney sweep law that was previously in force in Germany . The monopoly regulation, which has been in force since 1969, was viewed by the EU Commission as a violation of the fundamental freedoms of freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services . Furthermore, the authorization to enter the apartment to turn around or check according to § 1 paragraph 3 was criticized. The EU threatened the Federal Republic with infringement proceedings . On this occasion, the Bundestag reformed the Sweeping and Inspection Regulations (KÜO) and passed the “Chimney Sweep Crafts Act - SchfHwG” (“Law on Professional Law and Supply in the Chimney Sweep”) on November 26, 2008.
