Schrott , also called Schroot , was a German measure of volume and was used as a measure of grain . It was one of the smallest in size and was restricted to southern Germany .

The dimensional chain in Frankfurt am Main was

  • 1 Malter = 4 Simmer = 8 Mesten / Metzen = 16 Sixth = 64 Gescheid = 256 Mäßchen / Quarter = 1024 scrap

The different sizes of the malters affected the smaller dimensions. Since the Malter grain in Frankfurt 5784 Paris cubic inches had and 114.733 liters measure, resulted calculated 0.112044 liters for a scrap.

  • Frankfurt / Main 1 scrap = 5 ⅔ Parisian cubic inches = 1/9 liter

The dimensional chain in Mainz was

  • 1 Malter = 4 Simmer / Viernsel = 16 fights = 64 Gescheid = 256 Mäßchen = 1024 scrap

The Malter grain in Mainz was 5514 Parisian cubic inches and had 109.25 liters, resulting in 0.106689 liters for scrap.

  • Mainz 1 scrap = 5 ⅓ Parisian cubic inches, that was only ⅓ Parisian cubic inches smaller than in Frankfurt am Main
