Grauingen school house
The schoolhouse in Calvörder district Grauingen is located in the village street 39. The building is a historical monument .
Architecture and history
Today the building is particularly well preserved and is a school building in the region that follows the older tradition . The single-storey half-timbered school building is elongated and has a low sandstone base and a hipped roof . The dwarf house has an open half-timbered bell tower that is asymmetrically located above the entrance. The schoolhouse was built in 1832. Together with the chestnut trees framing the entrance , this building is an essential historical building in the town. Due to its central location on the village square, it is of great importance for urban development.
The building was the seat of the municipal administration of Grauingen until December 31, 2009.
