Schoolhouse Latvians

The Letten school building is a school building and is located at Imfeldstrasse 28 in the Letten district of Zurich . The house was built between 1913 and 1915 according to the plans of the Bräm brothers.

A competition was announced for the construction in which no 1st or 2nd place was awarded. 3rd place went to a project by the Bräm brothers, 4th place was a design by Karl Hover and Knell & Hässig, 5th place went to a second project by the Bräm brothers and 6th place was a project by Bollert & Herter. A gymnasium is built at right angles to the building, which was built in the Heimat style . The front of the building is symmetrical, in the middle a three-arched passage leads to the rear break area. The red plastered building is covered with hip roofs . Inside there are five murals by Paul Bodmer .

Sculptures by Otto Kappeler are embedded in the front of the school building . The baldachin fountain on the back of the playground also comes from Kappeler. The round fountain with bronze sculpture in the front school yard was designed by Hermann Hubacher and was built in 1928/29. The building was renovated between 1981 and 1984. It is classified as worthy of protection and is a listed building .
