Sculpture protection from fire

The protection from fire is a sculpture and a three-dimensional object in the Marzahn district of Berlin's Marzahn-Hellersdorf district .

description

The sculpture Protection from Fire was set up in 1985 by Manfred Büttner in front of the Marzahn fire station on Märkische Allee and Poelchaustraße; it is made of stainless steel and sheet steel and is 8.00 × 5.00 × 5.00 meters in size. It has four vertical struts that enclose a globe-shaped, stylized flower that can be moved solely by wind power. It also has the following two inscriptions on the two inner stainless steel struts : Protect what the people's hands can do . This saying clearly indicates the subject of the work in an instructive way.
