Security fitting

Security fitting

The protective fitting is intended to protect the profile cylinder and the mortise lock on a door against unauthorized mechanical manipulation with the aim of penetrating the room secured by the door ( DIN 18257).

Resistance classes

DIN 18257 divides security fittings into resistance classes from ES 0 to ES 3. ES stands for burglar-resistant security hardware.

DIN 18257 Resistance class
ES 0 Slightly burglar-resistant
IT 1 Burglar-resistant
ES 2 Strongly burglar-resistant
IT 3 Extremely strong burglar-resistant

The ES 0 does not require drilling protection and does not offer sufficient burglar resistance. It makes sense to use security fittings with cylinder covers or cylinder protection systems.
