The Black Lake , also called Kleiner Zechliner See , is a blind lake that belongs to the Rheinsberg Lake District in the north of the state of Brandenburg and is a clear water lake. Flecken Zechlin , a place in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, lies on its western and northern banks .

The lake has an area of 30 hectares and is up to 12 meters deep. The plot of land in the village partially surrounds the lake, while on the opposite side there is a short navigable passage, the Zechlin Canal, to the Great Zechlin Lake . Originally both lakes were separate. Due to the artificial connection created in 1880, the water level of the Black Lake fell by 3.45 meters.

The Black Lake is part of the Zechliner waters, a so-called “ other federal inland waterway ”. The Eberswalde Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible .
