Black Forest costume museum
The Black Forest Costume Museum is a museum in the convent building of the former Capuchin monastery Haslach in Haslach in the Kinzig valley in the Ortenau district in Baden-Württemberg.

The museum was opened in 1980 in the renovated buildings of the monastery . In the museum one can understand the history and the temporal development of the folk costumes in the Black Forest and its peripheral areas.
A large number of traditional costumes developed in the Black Forest for farmers as well as for the citizens of the cities. The Black Forest is one of the most important areas in Germany with a traditional costume. The costumes were worn in the 18th and 19th centuries. In the 20th century, fashionable and practical clothing was preferred. The tradition is kept alive by traditional costume clubs at regional festivals.
