Schweinerei is a dice game by David Moffat . The game was released in 1977 by David Moffat Enterprises as Pig Mania . From 1984 it was sold by the MB company as Pass the Pigs and in Germany as Schweinerei . It has been manufactured under license by Winning Moves since 2001 .

Furnishing

The game includes two little rubber pigs that are used to roll dice , a point scale and a case in which the accessories, pad and pens can be found. The pigs are marked with a black dot on one side to better distinguish the sides.

Due to several possible inclines, the pig is a highly non-ideal dice , as the probabilities of different results are different.

regulate

The idea of the game is very simple: the two pigs take turns tossing the dice. Depending on how the pigs rolled out of the hand come to lie on the table top, the player receives between 0 and 100 points. The less likely the constellation, the higher the score. Each player can roll the dice and collect points until he rolls a "lazy pig" or a "pig pile" or he passes the dice on to the next player and has the points added up. The special attraction here is the temptation to collect more points per roll of the dice and to take the risk of a "total crash".

Schweinerei is a pure game of chance and, because of the simple game principle and the simple equipment, is also suitable for larger rounds or for traveling.

"Pig Legends"

A “pig legend” is enclosed with the rules of the game. However, this changes with the different editions:

In this version it says that Vikings would throw pigs into the air on their travels and points were awarded depending on their position on the ground. This game is said to have been forgotten over time and the new version with little pigs developed.
  • Jonas and Franzl legend
Here it is said that real pigs used to be thrown onto a post until the two intended "litter pigs" Jonas and Franzl carved smaller pigs in order to avoid the litter themselves.
