Swiss feature pages service
The Swiss Feuilleton-Dienst (SFD) , since 2018 CH-Intercultur (CIC), is a cultural information service that supplies the media in Switzerland with cultural information free of charge.
The journalist Karl Wüst is the managing director and editor of the Swiss Feuilleton service. He is a member of the culture department of the Swiss Dispatch Agency (sda).
program
The SFD reports on literature, theater, music, film, visual arts , photography, architecture and cultural politics. He writes daily about theater and dance premieres, about art exhibitions and concerts throughout Switzerland and discusses the new fiction publications on the German-speaking Swiss book market. It also takes into account small houses, young writers, and marginal art. In addition to reporting on current cultural affairs, the SFD also writes thematic series of articles on bilingual or multilingual Switzerland, which are published as books.
financing
As a political understanding organization, the SFD is financed by the Federal Office for Culture (BAK) and subsidized by the cantons and municipalities. It is one of the organizations supported by the federal government which, according to the Languages Act (SpG), «promote understanding and exchange through their activities in at least one language region or do basic work for the promotion of multilingualism and convey the results».
history
The Swiss Feuilleton-Dienst association was founded in 1939 by Hans Rudolf Schmid, one of the leading figures in intellectual national defense , with the aim of supplying newspapers and magazines with valuable texts by Swiss authors.
The SFD has been cooperating with the sda news agency since 1993. This means that his texts reach sda customers - newspapers, magazines, radio and television - online via their distribution network.
