Rainer Stadler (journalist, 1958)

Rainer Stadler (born July 1, 1958 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss journalist .

Life

Stadler studied philosophy , French literature and linguistics at the Universities of Zurich and Paris . He completed his studies at the University of Zurich with a licentiate on Theodor W. Adorno . Afterwards he worked for a press office. He has been working for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung since 1989 and writes under the abbreviation ras. on the topics of media policy , media reporting and media ethical issues, mainly in the domestic department and for the "Media" supplement. At the end of October 2018, Stadler was relieved of responsibility for the media page of the NZZ. In future it will be headed by the feature section, but Stadler will remain an author.

Stadler had a teaching position in the field of social and communication sciences at the University of Lucerne and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Press Council . In 2008 he was awarded the Zurich Journalist Prize for his oeuvre . In 2011, Stadler received the Eastern Switzerland Radio and Television Prize from SRG Ostschweiz . This prize is donated by the cantonal governments of Eastern Switzerland.

Rainer Stadler plays the double bass . In 1982/83 he attended a jazz school in Paris and played in various formations.
