The Swiss university newspaper (formerly University News ) is a Swiss journal with peer review , the official organ of the Swiss Central Office of Higher Education , the Association of Swiss university lecturers and the Association of Swiss Student Bodies was.

History of publication

From 1922 the Swiss Central Office for Higher Education in Bern published the magazine Hochschul-Nachrichten ( Bulletin universitaire ). From 1927 to 1970 the magazine was titled Schweizerische Hochschulzeitung ( Revue universitaire suisse ) and was published by Leemann-Verlag in Zurich. The magazine's editor was Eduard Fueter , lecturer in science policy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. During this time she published, among other things, offprints for the Swiss National Science Foundation and for the Swiss relief campaign for students in need of war. From 1970 it appeared with the new subtitle, the non-partisan Swiss monthly newspaper for students, technicians and academics . From 1985 to December 1986 / January 1987 it was called Die Synthesis and Schweizerische Hochschulzeitung: Monthly newspaper for culture, science and politics and was published by the Zurich Synthesis publishing house.
