The Swiss IT Conference for short, SIK, is an intercantonal nationwide organization in which the IT organizations of the public administrations of the Confederation, cantons, communes and the Principality of Liechtenstein are united. The aim of the Swiss IT Conference is to promote cooperation in the field of IT and telecommunications (ICT).
Members
The members of the SIK are all public corporations in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, ie the federal government, cantons, communes and their companies, businesses, affiliated institutions and private companies with a majority stake in the public sector.
history
The SIK was founded in 1975 by the Conference of Cantonal Finance Directors (FDK), the Ch Foundation for Federal Cooperation , the Confederation and a majority of the cantons. The founding father was Max Frenkel , then managing director of the Ch Foundation for Federal Cooperation, the first president was Jean Babel, State Councilor of the Canton of Geneva.
purpose
The founding of SIK in 1975 was a pioneering act, as there were only few IT resources in use at the time. The basic idea of the founding father Max Frenkel was that synergies and cost savings can be achieved if not every canton z. B. has software developed separately, but the cantons work together. SIK today concludes agreements with ICT suppliers. Thanks to these, the public administrations in ICT areas have better purchasing conditions and achieve lower procurement costs. It also fulfills a coordination and harmonization function by issuing standards and recommendations for the attention of its members.
