The Swiss Association for Social Policy (SSPA) was founded in 1926 (in the context of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva ). Its headquarters are in Bern . The SSPA is a non-governmental organization that aims to impart knowledge about social security, politics and practice that has been developed in academia. It does this with conferences and publications.

At the international level, the International Social Security Association (ISSA) pursues similar objectives. The seat of the ISSA is Geneva.

In 2003, the association published the dictionary of social policy , which is not limited to Swiss conditions. It represents an illustration of the interdisciplinary knowledge (from the perspective of the SSPA) on many questions of social security (social insurance, social assistance, socio-economic conditions, basic questions of sociology, social law, the economy).

The International Social Security Review is an international quarterly magazine in the field of social security: leading experts from around the world present international comparisons and in-depth studies and analyzes of the social security systems in the various countries.
