The Schwiizergoofe are a Swiss music project initiated by Nikol Camenzind, the wife of music producer Roman Camenzind . Modern children's songs in German-Swiss dialects are published under this name.

background

For her own children, Nikol Camenzind was looking for children's songs based on the model of the Schlieremer Chind children's choir . She collected ideas and composed a series of children's songs together with Georg Schlunegger from HitMill , her husband's production company. Then she looked for children between the ages of six and twelve who could speak dialect and recorded an album with them. The project was named Schwiizergoofe after the dialect word Goofe for children. In spring 2013 the double CD with 15 songs in the sung and an instrumental version was released for singing along. It reached the top 10 of the Swiss album charts and was awarded platinum for over 20,000 copies sold. A second double CD with 15 other songs was recorded in a summer camp and released at the end of November 2013. These and five other Schwiizergoofe CDs reached the top 10 of the Swiss charts in the following years.

For every CD and ticket sold, a donation is made to the UNICEF children's aid organization.
