The float is a cross made of wood which is used to prevent the water from spilling out when carrying containers filled with water .

Floats are placed on the surface of the water in buckets. When carrying the bucket, in particular by means of a pan placed over the shoulders , the swimmer hinders the movement of the water and thus prevents it from sloshing out.
