SciDok is the common document server of the University of Saarland . University researchers can store their specialist articles and other scientific publications on SciDok free of charge and use them free of charge according to the open access principle .
SciDok is operated by the Saarland University and State Library (SULB) in its function as the university library of the Saarland University . SciDok is (in the open access terminology) an offer of the green way: The server primarily serves to make accessible documents that have already been published in other contexts (journal, collective work, independent monograph etc.). In contrast to the disciplinary repository PsyDok , also operated by the SULB , which is an open access platform for scientists in the field of psychology , SciDok is a so-called institutional repository, i.e. an offer for the regionally limited community of a university.
SciDok has interfaces to various specialist verification instruments, for example from computer science . Documents that are published on SciDok are also interdisciplinary search stitches as Google Scholar and various other databases, such as the citation database Web Citation Index from Thomson Scientific indexed.
SciDok is based on the repository software OPUS . In addition to the scientific repositories SciDok and PsyDok , the Saarland University and State Library operates a third free server with regionally relevant documents, SaarDok .
