The title of the program is based on the Latin proverb Scientia potentia est ( German knowledge is power ) by the English philosopher Francis Bacon and is intended to underline the informative content of the magazine .
Content of the broadcast
In the knowledge magazine Scientia potentia est - Worth knowing, generally interesting and important as well as current topics from the fields of technology and natural sciences are discussed and illuminated from different angles.
The way of presenting everyday observations as well as unknown phenomena should not only be introduced to the viewer, but also stimulate thought through comprehensible explanations.
Broadcast style
Each episode is characterized by a specific technical or scientific topic, from which, however, there are also slight deviations in the course of the broadcast. At the beginning of each broadcast, after the introductory words, which are partially supplemented by the moderator with a short experiment, a documentation about the accompanying topic is shown, in which the audience is brought closer to the topic.
In the second part of the program, the viewer is brought closer to an area of the topic in a practical way. Depending on the topic, the moderator of the program visits a suitable company or production facility or, in the case of nature-related topics, a suitable geographical location in order to bring the viewer closer to the topic by asking the responsible people and explaining the individual processes.
