Andreas Jäger (born July 29, 1965 in Hohenems ) is an Austrian meteorologist and television presenter.

Life

Following the secondary school in Hohenems, Andreas Jäger attended the Dornbirn-Schoren grammar school . After graduating from high school , he studied meteorology at the University of Innsbruck , graduating in 1992 with his work on isentropic trajectories and their application to the concept of potential vorticity in orographically induced Lee cyclogeneses .

From 1995 to 1999 he presented the weather reports as part of the ORF pre-evening magazine Willkommen Österreich , from 1997 to June 2003 he could be heard in the Ö3-Wecker . In 1998 he worked on the ORF television series Tohuwabohu by Helmut Zenker , in 2003 he was a participant in a celebrity special of the millionaire show , in 2008 he was a guest in Wir sind Kaiser . From 2006 he built up the weather department for the television station ATV . From 2007 to 2009 he was responsible for public relations for the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG). He has been working for ServusTV since 2009 , where, among other things, he presented the science program Scientia potentia est - Worth knowing , weather broadcasts and documentaries, and in 2016 he was the presenter of the program Quizmaster .

Since October 19, 2016, he has been moderating the science magazine Quantensprung on ORF III , since October 14, 2017 also the program Mountain Talks and, since November 2019, the ORF III main evening format Quiz with Class .
