Quizmaster is an early evening interactive quiz show produced by Interspot Film on behalf of ServusTV , in which, in addition to the candidates in the studio, the television viewers can also guess and win via an app .

concept

target

In each program, four candidates compete as challengers to the quiz master , who each answer five questions in five rounds with different categories and try to replace the quiz master. At the same time as the broadcast, TV viewers can also try to answer the questions correctly using a special application on their mobile phone or tablet , in order to win the jackpot at the end of the week .

Question mode

In contrast to many quiz programs, the moderator first reads out the four possible answers before the actual question is presented. After reading the question, the candidates have a few seconds to answer the question on a touchscreen in front of them . For each question, only one challenger or the quiz master is allowed to present his answer. If the answer is correct, the respective candidate or quiz master receives a sum corresponding to the round credited to his game account. If the question is answered incorrectly, the chance to present his answer is given to the candidate who - excluding those candidates who have already presented an incorrect answer - has answered the question fastest. If nobody gives the correct answer, the amount goes into the jackpot. Who of the candidate gets the chance to present his answer to the current question first depends on the game situation. Depending on the progress of the broadcast and the remaining broadcasting time, the moderator occasionally asks a candidate for his answer who would otherwise not be entitled to present his answer due to his or her response speed. The answer of this candidate has no relevance for the course of the game and rather serves to bring all candidates into focus during the course of the broadcast.

layout

In the middle of the studio is the moderator's desk, from which he reads the questions from the first three rounds and directs the broadcast. Immediately next to it is the panel , which consists of four standing desks for the four challengers. Opposite the panel is a cylindrical elevation surrounded by a rising ramp. In the middle of the plateau there is a retractable armchair, which is surrounded by a semicircular desk . The quiz master takes his place on this throne-like armchair for the first three rounds, before in the finale both the challenger, the quiz master and the moderator play this on the semicircular desk. The studio audience is in the darkened background of the theater, which means that they are not visible in the television picture. Nevertheless, the studio audience is part of the program production due to their applause , which is occasionally actively challenged by the moderator.

Game flow

Beginning

At the beginning of each broadcast, the moderator presents the current quiz master and the account balance he has already earned. Then each of the four challengers briefly introduces themselves before the categories of the five game rounds are presented.

Warm-up laps 1 and 2

In the first two rounds, all four challengers compete against the quiz master , whereby the quiz master is always allowed to present his answer first, regardless of his response speed. The challengers thus only have the chance to earn money in their account in the first two rounds if the quiz master is wrong with his answer. A correct answer presented in the first round is rewarded with 50 €, in the second with 100 €. At the beginning of the second round, two of the challengers are introduced, and they tell a short, often unusual episode from their life or talk about their hobby.

Temporal 3

In the third round, all four challengers compete against the quiz master, who no longer has the right to answer first. The candidate who answered the question fastest has the chance to present his answer first. For each correctly presented answer, € 150 will be credited to the candidate's account. At the beginning of this round, the moderator introduces the two remaining candidates in more detail.

Final round 4 and 5

In the final, that of the four challengers from the previous three rounds competes in a duel against the quiz master who has earned the highest account balance by then. The remaining three candidates have to be eliminated, with their winnings credited to the jackpot. In the final, as in the temporal round, the one of the two candidates who gave it the fastest has the chance to present his or her answer to the question. In order to increase the tension, the moderator occasionally asks both candidates for their answer first. If both candidates have given the correct answer, the speed of response decides, which is then announced by the moderator. If the answer is different, the speed of the answer is irrelevant, since the candidate who answers more slowly is allowed to present his answer anyway if the candidate who answers more quickly has an incorrect answer. If the challenger at the end of the finale a higher balance than the quizmaster , or is no longer einholbar because of erspielbaren by correctly answering the remaining questions sum, the challenger triggers the quizmaster , and must themselves as the next shipment quizmaster the new Face challengers. The replaced Quizmaster leaves the program and receives the money earned in his main game account up to that point. If the quiz master has a higher account balance at the end or is unable to catch up, this quiz master remains and reappears as quiz master in the next program ; his challenger is eliminated without winning. The quiz master who reigns after the broadcast receives both his winnings and the amount earned by his eliminated final opponent in this broadcast credited to his main gaming account. In final round 4, a correctly presented answer is endowed with € 300, in final round 5 with € 400.
