Sclamischot ( [ˌʃklaməˈʒɔt] ? / I , Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Vallader ) is a fraction of the Strada settlement in the Lower Engadine and belongs with this politically to the municipality of Valsot . Audio file / audio sample

The hamlet is located at 1050 m. ü. M. on the right side of the Inn between Strada and Martina and consists of only a few Engadine houses and a small industrial area. Sclamischot is accessed from Hauptstrasse 27 through an asphalt bridge, the roof of which is a wooden structure with a hipped roof .

In 1891 3 houses and 3 stables burned down in Sclamischot. Probably also because Sclamischot was "lucky" that the fire occurred in the Swiss jubilee year 1891, numerous donations were received from Switzerland and abroad to deal with the damage caused by the fire. Numerous Swiss consulates abroad collected donations and benefit concerts were organized.
