Scoiattolo 1971

The Scoiattolo (Italian for squirrel ) was an off-road vehicle presented in 1967 by the Italian bodywork company CAP (Carrozzeria Arrigo Perini) from Arco on Lake Garda, based on the Fiat 500 in the style of the Fiat 600 Savio Jungla . The production took place at Scoiattolo SpA in Riva del Garda . In 1969, an all-wheel drive version called Super Scoiattolo was presented at the Turin Motor Show.

Initially, the vehicles were based on the Fiat Nuova 500 and had its two-cylinder engine with 500 cm³ displacement . The four-cylinder engine from the Seat 600 with a displacement of 767 cm³ was later used. From 1977 the two-cylinder engine from the Fiat 126 powered the vehicles with 23 hp .
