biography

Scott Klopfenstein plays guitar, trumpet, piano and sings. Before joining Reel Big Fish, he was in the Californian band Nuckle Brothers and, like Aaron Barrett, in the band The Scholars , where he played the trumpet. During this time Scott Klopfenstein started a side project (PAL), which he wanted to realize with the former band member of The Scholars , Jesse Wildler. However, this was short-lived and some time later he formed The Littlest Man Band , in which another member of Reel Big Fish - Dan Regan - was represented.

Scott and his LMB performed less ska and more classy . Still, they often played with Reel Big Fish .

Scott Klopfenstein moved to New York in 2005 and was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome in September of that year . He then had an extended stay in the hospital.

During a European tour with Reel Big Fish in 2006, he had to briefly cancel the tour due to his illness and fly back from Amsterdam to New York.

In September 2006, Klopfenstein married his fiancée Teka, whom he has known since school.

Since Scott and his wife were expecting a child, Scott decided in January 2011 to dedicate himself to the family and to leave band and tour life behind. He announced his final departure from Reel Big Fish.
