Garden Grove is a city in Orange County in the US state of California . In 2004, according to an estimate by the United States Census Bureau, the place had 167,347 residents. The urban area has a size of 46.7 km². In addition to the many Mexican immigrants, many Asians, especially Vietnamese who live in the Little Saigon district , also constitute a large minority of the population.

The city is known for the Megachurch Crystal Cathedral by Robert H. Schuller . The Hour of Power television service was broadcast weekly from February 2008 to July 2013 from the Crystal Cathedral, and is watched by an estimated 10 to 30 million people in 196 countries worldwide. After the parish went bankrupt and the Crystal Cathedral was sold, the service has been recorded since July 2013 from the newly occupied Shepherd's Grove Church , 1,500 m away . The Crystal Cathedral (1980) and the Crean Tower (1990) are well-known buildings by the architect Philip Johnson .
