Scott Lee Sutter (born May 13, 1986 in London ) is a Swiss football player .

Career

The Swiss-British dual citizen Scott Sutter, son of a Swiss and an Englishwoman of Polish descent, played in his youth at Millwall, Aston Villa and Charlton and in 2002 moved to Switzerland to the Grasshopper Club. The young talent made the leap from the youngsters to the regular team of the Grasshopper Club Zurich in the 2005/06 season . He was a member of the Swiss U-21 national team. In June 2009 he moved to BSC Young Boys on a free transfer . His contract in Zurich had expired. He moved to Orlando City in March 2017 .

In the autumn of 2006, Sutter resigned from the Swiss U-21 and publicly announced that he no longer wanted to play for Switzerland, but for England. In August 2010, he was invited by the Swiss national coach Ottmar Hitzfeld for the friendly against Australia and the European Championship qualifier against his native England , which he accepted, contrary to earlier statements, that he wanted to play for England.
