Scottish Ontario Chambers (also Trust Building , French Édifice Trust ) is the name of a listed commercial building on Confederation Square in the Canadian capital Ottawa . It has been classified as a building of the national cultural heritage since 1983 .
Location and description
The building at 42-50 Sparks Street is on the corner of Elgin Street in the same block as the Central Chambers building to which it is connected via the The Chambers skyscraper .
The upper part of the four-story building is made of red brick.
history
It was built in the Italianate style in 1883 by the Scottish Ontario and Manitoba Land Company . The real estate investment trust Allied has been the owner since 2011 .
The main tenant is the National Capital Commission .
